Welcoming Committee

This photo shows some of the welcoming committee which greeted us as we got off the plane. There were some of the elders, local citizens and a few teenagers present. A very warm welcome indeed, and we found out later that there were many more people there initially, but because our plane was delayed so long, some of them finally had to go home. My first four impressions upon stepping out of the plane: 1) Warm, friendly people 2) Pure, clean smog-free air 3) CHILLY!!! (at least 10-15 degrees cooler than Inuvik) 4) NO MOSQUITOES!!
