Chapter 18 deals with how to survive in Arctic or polar environments, which are descibed by the author as "the most hostile climates on earth." I haven't yet been to a tropical desert or jungle, but from what I've seen and felt so far, I'm willing to bet he's right. There are some very "cool" things in here, such as using snowblocks not just for igloos, but also for large directional arrows to help search-and-rescue planes find your shelter. I especially love the drawings - I had no idea that if you fall through the ice, you should try to pull yourself out as soon as possible!
