I laughed for a good five minutes after opening this Christmas present, sent to me by Virginia & Dick Brown, close family friends since before I was born. What a perfect companion survival tool to complement my "Survival Guide." Not only does this baby come complete with a wicked 6-inch razor-sharp blade, leather sheath & sharpening flint, it also has a compass at the end of the handle. But wait - there's more!! Unscrew the handle, and inside you'll find the following survival tools: waterproof matches, needles for sewing or first aid, fishing line, hooks & weights, and a sawing blade. The knife also doubles as a GPS device, a universal translator, a heating lamp, cooking stove, flare pistol, and in a pinch it can be used to whip up a mean latte. As with the Survival Guide, this is truly a gift that makes me feel more secure, but it's also one that I hope I never have to use!
