Twilight Hike #2

Twilight Hike #2

This is one of my very first experimental "Impressionist" photographs, where I have attempted to blur the lines between perception and reality by playing with light, texture, colour, form, and composition to create an image which is evocative yet playful, elusive yet suggestive, contrived yet abstract. (Actually, it was entirely an accident. This photo led me to the realization that shooting any lights in low outdoor lighting conditions requires a faster (or slower?) shutter speed to avoid the blurry effect you see here. The quickest way I've found is to use the "Sports" setting on my digital camera, which seems to work just fine. In the meantime, I think this shot of the town at twilight looks kind of cool. I'm glad I didn't go with my first impulse to delete it.)
