Q: Where does a $70,000 Danish super-police-dog sleep?
A: Anywhere he wants to!
This amazing super-police-dog apparently goes by the name of "Lasse," which is Danish for "Peace." I'm sure it's purely coincidental that his name is one letter away from Lassie. I'm also guessing that he was given that name because he was being raised and trained to help keep the peace. However, after hearing some of the stories that his trainer, Mark Hicks, told the group about Lasse's history of "peace-keeping," I think a more fitting name would have been whatever the Danish word is for "Piece," because it sounds like he's ripped more than a few chunks of flesh out of people in the line of duty - and not just from the bad guys! Apparently Lasse's previous trainer made the fatal error of moving his padded arm away from Lasse during a training exercise, so Lasse bit him in the side and ripped out part of his intestine! I think I'll take desk duty, thanks. (That particular story was not shared with the group, but was told to me afterwards.)
