I blew my big chance here to score some authentic NWT "polar bear" licence plates off of these junk heaps. I had to console myself with a generic tourist version with the number "000" from the Tourist Information Centre for $15, which I purchased in a tourist feeding frenzy along with a small NWT flag, a Northern Lights fridge magnet, an Explorers' Map, and a few other lovely items. I figure if you're going to do the tacky tourist thing, you should go big or stay home.
