It's shrouded in snowfall here, but across this bay is the site of the notorious Giant Mine, where in 1992 during a bitter labour dispute, nine miners were killed in an explosion caused by another miner who took his hatred of his employers to an insane extreme. There is a monument to those workers by the Prince of Wales Heritage Museum. (Notice that out of respect for the dead miners I refrained from any references to the workers getting "shafted" by the company. Although I'm sure I must have violated some by-law about the maximum allowable bad puns in a photo caption.)
