Parting is such sweet sorrow...
I'm sad to announce that this is the final photo album of my time in the Arctic, taking us right up to June 5, 2007 - the day I left Ulukhaktok for the last time, to fly to Vancouver where I am resettling. The first series of photos are the montage of shots I took on my final bus ride to the airport, and from the window of the plane. The photo above is my last clear view of the town, showing both Queen's Bay and King's Bay still iced up, with icebergs floating in the open water just beyond the point.
The rest of this gallery represents the first few days and weeks of my new life in Vancouver, a most decidedly un-Arctic environment (Olympic inukshuk symbols notwithstanding), although still pretty exotic and alluring, in my opinion. I hope the transition for my readers is a little smoother and easier than the one I experienced :)
I also hope you will enjoy my upcoming photos (and posts) from the Left Coast as much as my two-years' worth of Arctic pictures and posts. I can't guarantee any more wildlife photos than I got up north, but I can promise you lots and lots of photos of trees!!
