The Avatuk waits for its next victim

According to Julia Ekpakohak, who brought this Avatuk out of storage to contribute to the fun during our school outing, the Avatuk was traditionally made of inflated sealskin and used as a marker buoy attached to a harpoon used in seal-hunting. But they can be made out of any kind of animal hide.
